Welcome to green world of crop experimentation and seeding! The Greenhouse is a multi-level constructible building that you can experiment to create up to ten new Masterable crop breeds.
The bigger the Greenhouse, the higher the amount of seeds you can start to produce. And you can get your friends to help speed up the experimentation process!
Building Your Greenhouse
First off, let’s not confuse the new Greenhouse with the old one that was available in the Market; the old Greenhouse has been renamed Glasshouse and had no actual functionality (other than looking nice). Similarly the Cube Greenhouse, available exclusively through FarmVille Mobile, is merely a decoration.
Everyone will get the new Greenhouse for free the first time the play after FarmVille updates, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Greenhouse frame on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later (by switching to the Multi-Tool for instance).
The new Greenhouse is a multi-level constructible building where each level requires a certain amount of building parts to complete, and each level allows the use of more seeding trays (see below):
- Level 1 – 12 parts total: 4 Wooden Boards, 4 Nails and 4 Bricks. Includes 1 seed tray.
- Level 2 – 45 parts total: 15 Wooden Boards, 15 Nails and 15 Bricks. Includes 4 seed trays.
- Level 3 – 60 parts total; 20 Wooden Boards, 20 Nails and 20 Bricks. Includes 8 seed trays.
Like many constructible building parts, you can acquire these items by:
- Asking your neighbors for these parts by posting a help request to your feed (click on the “Ask For More” button for each type of part).
- Give parts to your neighbors via the Free Gifts page or the “Send Gifts” button.
- Acquire individual parts by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Buy” button for that particular part). Each part is one (1) Farm Cash.
- Acquire all needed parts for the building by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Complete Now” button to purchase parts for the rest of the building). The Cost is X Farm Cash, where X is the amount of parts left needed to finish the building.
- Potentially through the use of Special Delivery Boxes.
- Using individual parts already available in your Gift Box.
As you complete each level of Greenhouse, it becomes bigger and grander visually:
If you do not get the Greenhouse initially or wind up deleting (or otherwise losing) it, you can purchase it in the Market (under Buildings). You’ll need to be Level 5 to use it.
Discovering New Seeds
To see what the Greenhouse can offer (and it’s at least Level 1) just click on it on your farm and choose “Look Inside” from the menu options. The initial Greenhouse display looks like this:
Right now you’re looking at the Nursery display. Here you can find and use the right seed combinations to produce one of the new crops. Just click on the “Place a Seed” display and you’ll see a mini-Market display showing twenty familiar crops (like Strawberries, Lilacs, Wheat, etc.). Once you enter in the right two-crop combination, you’ll be told what the new crop will be and that the experimentation process has started and you’ll be deducted the cost (in coins, listed under each crop). If you enter in the wrong combination you’ll get an error message.
The Nursery display will then look like this when you start a proper two-crop combination:
In this example you can see I’m experimenting with using Raspberries and Strawberries to make a new crop. Generally this process will take three (3) days. However, if I click on “Ask Friends For Help” I can speed up this process. Each Friend I get to help me out will reduce the experimentation time by a day, so if three friends help me out, I can finish the experimenting instantly. You can also speed up the process by clicking on “Complete Now” and spending Farm Cash (the cost is two (2) Farm Cash for each friend that hasn’t helped you so far, so if no friends have helped you then the cost is six (6) Farm Cash).
Once the experimentation process is over the clock will be replaced with an image of a new seed packet. Click on “Harvest” and you’ll be rewarded with a new super-enhanced crop (in the case of mixing the Strawberries and Raspberries you get the Straspberry).
Each time you finish experimentation you’ll get fifty (50) seeds of this new crop, which is placed in your Market and can be seeded (similar to giftable Limited Edition crops). You’ll also be able to share this new crop with your friends.
If you look at the Nursery bar you can see that you only have one seed tray to work with. As you expand the Greenhouse (click on the “Expand Greenhouse” button to see what you need), you’ll get access to many more seed trays so you can experiment with a lot more special crops at the same time. For instance, a Level 2 Greenhouse will get you four (4) seed trays and the Nursery will look like this:
Just click on a tray button to move between the trays. You can experiment with any combination of special crops, there’s no restriction as to which you can try out. There will be a green “Ready” label over the ones that are ready to be harvested.
Clicking on the “Seed Genealogy” button will bring you to the genealogy display, where you can see all of the special crops available for experimenting:
You can learn more about these special crops as well as how far along your Mastery of these crops are (yes they can be Mastered!) by moving your mouse over the crop image.

This is very smart of the game designers.
Instead of having to come up with new crops periodically. The players now come up with their own new crops.

My only problem with this is we still have a 125 limit on what we can get from our feeds so this could take months to get completed!!!! TAKE OFF THE LIMIT!!!!!

i like the limit cause then you can actually claim items of the walls that you may want that you dont get to. i HATE when i want to get something and it gone in less than 20 seconds

Most of my neighbours & I have completed it in 24 hours from receiving it. use your special deliveries only open the amount of deliveries you need to complete each level. it may leave you 1 or 2 short of completeing each level

I got it, built it, and started a “Discovering New Seeds” and there are already problems with it. Cant use any of my vehicles or get into the Market to purchase anything. And on top of that, I lost 2 of my Heart Candy tress as well.

hi,
since i was building the greenhouse, some other utilites are not working, i can´t look into the greenhouse, i don´t can seed on my existing feeds, only harvest and plug is working, i don´t can look into my store, don´t can use my gifts where i get, its horrible to work on farmville

when these new items are introduced, it will be very helpful if you also include how many plots they take up on our farm. space is critical, as is placement. this is important “need to know” info. ty, jan

Sherry….Those needed parts don’t seem unreasonable to me and I never hit the 125 limit. I like that limit because some of us aren’t FB 24/7 to get the special rewards or have a program that accepts them for us. I have had no problem completing the orchards that require building parts. This sounds like a very fun new addition to the game.
I wish they would come up with how much farm cash to pay for an expansion! That’s what I’m waiting for.

I loose my gifts from when people send them. They just disappear off the page of gifts. I can not send gifts, the page will not load after I have chosen the gifts to send, and now my greenhouse has disappeared off my farm and I can not buy another one, it is locked. Can anyone help me. I’m almost complete with my greenhouse under the 125 limit. You can still get through gifts from your friends and by using the special handling boxes. I like the limit! Keeps things fair and balanced. I have not exceeded my limit from the wall yet AND I play A LOT. I grab lots of things from the wall. All the limit does is make you stop and thing if you really need it or not. It’s a game for fun. It’s not a race to see who can finish each buildable first.

@Sherry: If you send requests for building supplies, it won’t take more than 2 or 3 days, which is not that long. If you can’t accomplish this through gifting, then you need more friends. I have about 110 friends, and mine will be finished in about 36 hours total. No biggie.

Im liking this new green house very smart indeed!…atleast its a new challenged for farming. The only thing i against about this, is the cost of the seed like 4000 to 8000 each
seed ;(….so the new gamer that have no enough coins to discover the new crop cannot enjoy at all. Atleast lower the price to 500 or 1000 for straspberry. (Oh, anyway im on level 89 and absolutely can afford to discover every new crops)..i just speak for those at the lower level, Hear it zanga!

I also complete the level 3 of this green house.
For the new gamer let me share on how to collect more coins through horses. First u have to have horse stable atleast put 20,30 or 40 horses in if u can expand it thats great, u also need to put 1 stallion inside for xp(u can use any type of horses, u can ask ur neighbor to send u the brown horse from the giftbox). Also collect more horses to put outside the stable except those are in the stable. This is how u gonna do it: after u harvest ur horses in the stable remove 1 horse from the stable and put it outside, then put 1 in, use ur horses thats been place outside the stable(Note: horses outside must be atleast 34% ready, for sure)< once u put that 34% horse in your stable it will automatically ready to harvest again. Do thesame with the rest of your horses. Remember everytime u harvest ur horses it gives xp, coins or foal. The higher u level up the more coins it'll give, right now im on level 89 and each horse give 8021 coins+the total of 40horses 3897coins. I collect atleast a million and half coins everytime my horses are harvested( i have 200+ horses outside the stable, and yes it requires lots of enthusiam). Coins from horses helps a lot to level up fast by buying buildings like mansion gives 50000xp. try it:) and respond to my message.

What is the point of this green house other than to fill up your stands with fruits and vegetables you cannot use?
Are the bakeries, spas and wineries going to get new recipes to use these new mutants?
I would prefer that Zynga develop a rabbit hutch to put our rabbits in or a petting zoo to put our non-farm animals in, like the llama, reindeer, moose, etc.
For the clumsy reindeer, holiday animals perhaps a Ripley’s refuge for odd animals. “Come see the sheep made of chocolate or the sheep that looks like it has boils on it but is instead a bubblegum sheep.
OR HOW ABOUT letting us expand our horse barns past 40 horses or let us build another horse barn.
Those things are useful, a mutant vegetable isn’t.

Are there going to to be any more crops for the greenhouse? I have mastered all the crops, and it is just sitting on valuable land space – empty. I can’t store it, so it has to be sold unless we are going to have more seeds to harvest.

I have stage 1 of my greenhouse and started to expand even though I have not had a chance to use it. I have 2 friends who are helping with seed but when I click to ask more friends to get a third person to help. Nothing happens. I am unable to request a friend to help. Any ideas why?

my problem is people have clicks on here. and if you are not in the click you don’t get what you ask for. Lately the game runs slow. Sometimes requests don’t go through. it has taken me up to a year to get things that i need for buildings etc. and when i do ask for things i get just the opposite of what i asked for . the other thing is I can’t delete old gifts and end up getting told afterwards its old. I am about ready to delete both FARMVILLE AND FRONTIERVILLE ALREADY GOT RID OF CITYVILLE BECAUSE OF THIS. AND AS FAR AS YOUR FB CASH AND FARMVILLE CASH THATS A JOKE BECAUSE I NEVER GET ANY. SORRY I LOVE BOTH GAMES BUT CAN’T GET THINGS IF PEOPLE DON’T WANT TO SHARE ON THESE GAMES.
